TechInsights has presented its initial teardown results of the Samsung S23 Ultra, specifically focusing on the camera modules and optical sensors inside the phone. The smartphone features a quad-camera cluster on the back (200 MP main/wide, 10 MP periscope, 10 MP telephoto, and 12 MP ultrawide) and a 12 MP CMOS image sensor for the front (selfie) camera. The blog post provides images of the teardown and X-rays of the main (wide) camera module, indicating aperture stops and four ball bearings used to guide the lens barrel. The periscope camera uses a single prism to fold the light path, and the image sensor is a Sony device. Lab work is still ongoing to confirm the details of the image sensors and camera sensors found inside the phone.
