Sony’ earlier DSLR format CIS, the IMX007AQ was released over 2 years ago. Sony has improved upon their design and manufacturing techniques as evidence by the growing family of CIS devices they offer from full frame to cost effective moderate resolution camera phone modules. Chipworks will be looking for improvements to the pixel design and layout and use of metallization layers throughout the array and periphery.
