Huawei Mate 70 series phones have just been released and TechInsights torn down the Pro and Pro+ models to check the image sensor. The Mate Pro+ model has a new OmniVision stacked back illuminated (BI) CMOS image sensor (CIS) in the ultra-wide camera. Based on the pixel array size, it has a 56 MP CIS, which is used as a 40 MP imager; it has a 0.70 µm pixel size and 4-cell RYYB color filter array. This exploratory report includes optical images and SEM cross-section images of the CIS and image signal processor (SSP) dies.
