MediaTek's Kompanio 540 advances the company's Arm-powered push into Chromebooks via a 6nm octa-core SoC tailored for silent, power-sipping laptops. An evolution of the Kompanio 520, it incorporates upgraded Cortex-A78 cores, LPDDR5 memory, and compatibility with external MediaTek Filogic Wi-Fi 7/Bluetooth 6 modules. Paired with a dual-core Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, this design enhances snappiness and media handling in slim, fanless ChromeOS devices while prioritizing extended battery endurance.

Architectural upgrades in the Kompanio 540 deliver +50% single-thread and +30% multicore uplift versus the Kompanio 520, per Geekbench v6.3 scores on ChromeOS DEV 141.
