Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin, or IFA Berlin, is Europe’s largest consumer electronics tradeshow and one typically dedicated more to home appliances than anything else. This year’s, which ran from September 6 to 10 2024, marked a departure from the norm as Intel and Qualcomm launched new mobile chipsets for Windows PCs, and Asus, Acer, and Lenovo debuted new PC hardware including bold new concept AI PCs. The shift in theme was driven by AI and the buzz around AI PCs as the PC industry is intent on driving a strong refresh cycle while encouraging users to move up the stack (and drive higher average selling prices).
