In the past two years, AI has emerged as a defining feature that reshaped both user experience and software on PCs. The inclusion of dedicated Neural Processing Units (NPUs) further enhanced AI by enabling local inference, reducing latency, and improving power efficiency. Intel has captured 56% market share in both desktop and notebook AI PC processor market segments in 2025, followed by Apple at 24% and 20%. AMD is the third in both the desktop and notebook processor market segments. Two other ARM-based processor manufacturers, Qualcomm and MediaTek, have made rapid progress in the notebook PC market, capturing 5% and 2% market share, respectively.
