Semiconductor equipment sales fell 5% sequentially in 1Q22 as supply chain constraints and component shortages intensified in Q1. This hindered equipment suppliers’ ability to complete their tool sets and recognize revenue. These constraints had the biggest impact on WFE where sales fell 6%. Test followed with a 1.4% decrease while Assembly finished the quarter flat. Companies that outperformed the market in the first quarter were: ACCRETECH - Tokyo Seimitsu, BE Semiconductor Industries, DISCO, Eugene Tech, Hitachi High-Tech, and Semes.
