Altera Extends Agilex Brand to Edge Applications
Discover Altera's Agilex 3 FPGAs, designed for edge applications with AI capabilities, high-speed transceivers, and advanced architecture. Learn how they redefine performance and efficiency.
The first new low-cost field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) developed by Altera in more than a decade are scheduled to begin shipping in the middle of next year, offering densities up to 135,000 logic elements for embedded and edge applications. Agilex 3 FPGAs integrate AI capability of up to 2.54 trillion operations per second (TOPS), high-speed transceivers operating at up to 12.5 GB/s, support for LPDDR4 memory, and the second generation of Altera’s HyperFlex architecture, the same architecture used in other Agilex devices. The higher-end members of the Agilex 3 family are system-on-chips (SoCs) that include a dual Arm Cortex-A55 subsystem. Agilex 3 devices are built using the Intel 7 process and come in many package options including variable-pitch ball grid array (VPBGA) packages and options as small as 12 mm2.
