Google has been a pioneer in the design of AI accelerators for data centers since the introduction of the Tensor Product Unit (TPUs) in 2015, and TechInsights believes the company is now the third-largest designer of data center processors, with a market share comparable to more prominent chip companies such as Intel or AMD – and accelerating in 2024 and beyond.
