Designed by Denso, the Vision Sensor Camera is a part of the Toyota Prius safety and driver assistance system. It combines a millimeter-wave radar sensor and vision sensor to assist the driver in safely controlling the vehicle. Compared to the previous generation, the sensor has a greater ability of identifying objects on the road in front of the car and a wider horizontal field of view, which helps to avoid collisions at intersections. This makes it easier to change lanes and adaptive cruise control over a wider speed range. In addition, the device uses artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance detection capabilities and assistive functions such as traffic sign recognition and distance control. The Toshiba Image Recognition Processor cost is $14.14. The Bottom Enclosure is made of Aluminum and costs $1.87. It was stamped, formed, anodized, painted, and laser printed. The Top Enclosure is made of Aluminum and costs $2.95. It was cast, machined, anodized, drilled, and tapped.
